Town of Owls Head General Assistance Notice
The municipality of Owls Head administers a General Assistance program for the support of the poor. Pursuant to Title 22 M.R.S.A. §4305, the municipal officers have adopted an ordinance and relevant statues are available for public inspection at the Town Office. Persons who wish to apply for General Assistance may do so at the Owls Head Town Office during the following time(s):
Tuesdays 9 am to 1pm
IF IT IS AN EMERGENCY DURING NON-BUSINESS HOURS, CALL (207)594-0677 (KNOX REGIONAL COMMUNICATIONS CENTER) TO GET A MESSAGE TO THE GENERAL ASSISTANCE DIRECTOR.
The municipality’s General Assistance administrator must issue a written decision regarding eligibility to all applicants within 24 hours of receiving an application.
The Department of Health & Human Services toll-free number with questions regarding the General Assistance Program is 1-800-442-6003.
